I live in the Granada TV region and have re-tuned - why am I receiving Welsh BBC services?

After re-tuning at switchover, some viewers, mainly in Merseyside, the Wirral and parts of Cheshire, will find that they receive Welsh TV services in addition to services from their region. Where this occurs, some Freeview TVs and boxes may load both versions of channels and some viewers may find their preferred service has been loaded automatically further down the channel list, likely to appear in the 800’s.

Depending on the type of Freeview TV or box, you may wish to do a manual re-tune to store your preferred services. To do this, you will need to know which frequencies are used for the required services. These can be found on the Digital UK postcode checker at www.digitaluk.co.uk using the “Trade View”. In the “manual search” or “manual re-tune” menu, you enter each of the frequencies for your transmitter one by one, and the available services will be downloaded and stored.

Alternatively, you can make your preferred services easier to find by using the “favourites” list, “channel settings”, or “edit channels”. Your instruction manual should tell you how to do this.
